In the 1841 census the family were living in Akeman Street, Tring. In the 1851 census they were living in Harrows Yard, Akeman Street, Tring, William was a labourer and Ann was a charwoman. John, William and Susan had left home but they had one lodger. Ann died in Harrows Yard, Tring in 1858 from consumption & exhaustion from lack of nourishment. In the 1861 census he lived with his daughter Mary in New Mill, and was still there in the 1871 census. He was working as a gardener. In the 1881 census William lived with his grandson William at Bunstrux Hill, Tring, and was working as a gardener. In the 1891 census her was back living with Mary at 28, Wingrave Road, Tring, but had retired by then. William died at 28 Albany Terrace, New Mill, Tring in 1894 from senile decay. |
